So far this session we’ve had 2 games. The first we won and the second, which was on Wednessday before Thanksgiving, was a forfeit. The other team didn’t show for the game. But none the less a good start to our first session back this year.

Unfortunately we had a disappointing 4-3 loss last night in the final. We just couldn’t put enough goals in the net and they beat us on set pieces. 3 out of 4 of their goals were from free kicks. Oh well, next fall.
Thanks guys for playing this year. We had a good run this session. Heads high, we’ll be back next fall!
Tomorrow night at 7:55 we’re playing in the final for the spring session at Lanco Fieldhouse. We’ll be playing against Internationals, who we’ve tied and lost to. Looks like we should have the full squad there so it should be a good game.

The Over 30 Men’s A league will have their first week of playoffs on 5/5/11. The following is the schedule:

Internationals (1st) vs. Red Devils (4th) at 7:00pm on field #2
FC Blackbird (2nd) vs. Spartans (3rd) at 7:55pm on field #2
A tough loss last night vs. Internationals puts the team in 2nd place heading into the finals. 
We’ll now face the Spartans in the semi-finals Thursday May 5th at 7:55pm.
Well, it’s been a while since we’ve been top of the table, but this session is going quite well. We had an unfortunate tie last Thursday against a team we greatly outplayed. We just couldn’t put it in the back of the net. It seemed like every shot we took the goalie was just in the right, or maybe “wrong” spot.
This week we start the second round of the spring session. There’s only 4 teams. Tonight we play the Spartans, which we beat by 3 goals the first time around. Let’s make it two in a row!

We will be playing in the Keystone State Games indoor soccer tournament again this year. In 2008 we won the bronze and in 2010 we took the Silver. We’re hoping to continue our success again this year as well! The tournament will be played at the Lanco Field House in East Petersburg
The schedule is below. We’re playing in the over 30 mens tournament and we’re team H10. Our first game is at 4:20. The tournament is always ahead of schedule so, follow us on Twitter @FCBlackbird for updates and game times.
